No DK Metcalf for Seattle. That means this number should climb. Plus, as I have mentioned on several occasions, no team is more game script dependent than Seattle. If they trail….they throw. I’m betting they trail at some point in this spot and Walker does some damage.
Originally planned to sit this one out, but the Seahawks’ rushing defense stats are concerning against the Bills’ three-headed monster (including Josh Allen). Amari Cooper also has a second week in Buffalo’s system, while Seattle will be without DK Metcalf in what could be a back-and-forth affair. The Seahawks were opportunistic last week, which made up for them being outgained by the Falcons. Seattle is no longer as dominant at home, and Buffalo looks to have found enough offensive fluidity after a rougher start to the season than expected.
Seahawks running back Kenneth Walker has recorded at least 24 receiving yards in four straight games. He's explosive catching the ball out of the backfield, and this is an ideal matchup. Buffalo gives up the second-most receiving yards (54.4) to opposing RBs. In addition, Bills starting linebacker Terrel Bernard is out.
Bills linebacker Dorian Williams has registered double-digit tackles in five of the past six games. He has an elite tackle rate and should be relied on even more now that Terrel Bernard is out. Look for him to notch at least nine combined stops Sunday in Seattle.
I expect a big game from Cook here. Teams can run on the Seahawks and it's supposed to be a dreary day in Seattle Sunday. The Seahawks allow 129 yards per game to running backs and seven players have already topped 60 yards against them. Promising rookie Ray Davis will see a few touches but Cook is still the clear no. 1 back and this is a good matchup for him to see a heavy workload. Look for this total to close around 63.5.
The surest bet is rain during the game, with stiff winds mixed in. The elements could limit scoring as both offenses scale back their emphasis on throwing. The Bills are content handing off to RB James Cook and Seattle to RB Kenneth Walker. WR DK Metcalf, the Seahawks' deep threat, could sit with an injury, which would further dissuade Seattle from airing it out. The Seahawks' defense under D-minded head coach Mike Macdonald got back on track last week after derailing for a few games.
The Bills wound up easily covering against the Titans ... eventually. It was a trainwreck of a first half with just one of six drives going longer than nine yards before finally breaking through in the second half against a shorthanded Titans secondary. A healthier Seahawks front seven just shut down what had been a strong Falcons offense in Atlanta, and Mike Macdonald's former team completely shut down Buffalo's offense a few weeks ago. I expect around 20 points for the Bills, and the Seahawks have scored 20+ in every game. With DK Metcalf's injury expected to be minor, Seattle has a great shot at winning this game.
