Next week on CBS' hit series "Ghosts," Sam Darnold guest stars as a quarterback who sees them when under pressure. He has five picks in the past two games and at least one pick in seven of nine games -- and in three of four on the road. The Titans are decent against the run so perhaps Darnold has to throw a bit more today than the Vikes would like.
The Titans have been far more competitive at home, with three of their four games decided by one score. Minnesota hasn't scored more than 21 points since Week 7 and is facing a tough pass defense. Will Levis is fully healthy for the first time since September, and he's coming off a performance in which he threw two touchdowns without an interception. Look for a narrow Vikings win and grab the points.
This pick is pretty simple: Minnesota has at times been the best defensive team in the NFL this season. On the other side, Tennessee has been one of the NFL's worst offensive teams. With a number this low, there is some risk in the Titans going over on a garbage time touchdown, but I just don't see it happening. I expect 13-14 points for Tennessee here.
This isn't just about last week with the 3 picks. Dude has been seeing ghosts for weeks, has thrown a pick in 5 of the last 6 games and tossed 5 in the last 2 games alone. Titans have some quality on the back end and an elite defensive coordinator who can scheme it up. I expect the trend to continue here.
Tennessee's Will Levis had a rare game without a pick in Week 10, but the Vikings lead the NFL with 15 interceptions thanks to that blitz-heavy Brian Flores defense.
The Vikings defense has been incredible the last two weeks against bad offenses, and you can argue they're facing one here. But the Titans took four of their eight drives into scoring range on the road against the league's No. 1 scoring defense with Will Levis putting together strong numbers in his first game back from a multiweek injury when QBs tend to struggle. The Vikings offense has also been keeping opponents in games with ill-timed turnovers and then red zone struggles against Jacksonville. This is a massive number on the road for a team that hasn't been playing well enough to lay it and a home team playing solid enough to not be considered bottom tier.
