Let's sneak this in. I saw Prop Bet Guy earlier on Jaxson Hayes rebounds and I'm like yeah maybe but Hayes wasn't going to start in Anthony Davis' spot -- Dorian Finney-Smith was going to. So I was going to pass. But DFS is now out too. Hayes is averaging 8.3 rebounds in 28.7 minutes in his previous three starting appearances this season.

FanDuel. Without Anthony Davis, Jaxson Hayes should slot into the starting lineup for the Lakers. In both his starts without Davis this season where he played more than 20 minutes, he had 9 and 10 rebounds. This is a premier spot against a Wizards team that’s allowed the second most rebounds to opposing centers. Of course I’m ok with over 6.5, but taking a stab here at 7.5 given the elite matchup.

The Lakers are without Anthony Davis so assuming LeBron James plays (he's questionable), he has not topped eight assists in three games without Davis this season and is averaging 7.3 in those compared to 35.1 points. He obviously will have to take on a much bigger scoring and rebounding load without AD.

Wizards forward Kyle Kuzma gets up to face his former team, the Lakers. He's averaged 20 points and 10.2 rebounds in six meetings, getting at least seven boards every time. Nine days ago in LA, Kuzma had 12 points and nine rebounds in 28 minutes of Washington's 111-88 loss. Anthony Davis is out for LA, and Washington remains without power forward Marvin Bagley. It's unclear if Wizards center Alex Sarr (ankle) is playing after he got hurt Monday and sat out Wednesday. Look for Kuzma, averaging 8.3 rebounds over his last six games, to grab at least seven Thursday.

Anthony Davis (abdomen) has been ruled out for at least a week. His absence leaves a major scoring void within the Lakers offense. The last game that Davis missed, Reaves scored 38 points against the Nets. Thursday brings another matchup against a bad tanking team in the Wizards, who have the worst defensive rating in the league. The Wizards have also played at the fourth-fastest pace. Added shot attempts should help Reaves hit this over.
I'm actually going to throw a little something on the Wizards ML as well. If you read today's newsletter, I told you Thursday fit every possible criteria for a massive trap game for the Lakers -- and now Anthony Davis is out. LeBron is questionable, although I'm sure he plays and it will be a sellout to see him in his only trip to D.C. The Wizards are getting barbequed right now at home vs. Toronto for their 15th straight loss, but I think that only helps here honestly. And I'm pretty sure all those young Wiz guys were looking ahead to this one. Purely a gut play, the Lakers might win by 40.
It's gut check time for the Lakers and I don't mean AD's abdominal injury. Getting blown out by the Sixers back-ups should bring some pride out in this group. They smashed the WIz in LA last week, Wiz entered Wed's game having lost 14 in a row, all by 6+ points. Wiz in back end of B-2-Bs this season lost by: 23, 14, 6, 28, 25, 28 and 15 points. I'll bite. Team waiting to see which vets get moved before deadline, Already playing teenagers a ton of minutes and their legs are shot in dog days before All Star break. Shows big time on back to backs.
