The Panthers should look like an actual NFL offense with Andy Dalton under center, but that doesn't mean they still can't get blown out on the road as the Carolina defense is the worst in the NFL.
Andy Dalton is a pro who knows how to be accurate and get the ball to his playmakers. This means Johnson steps up today and goes over.
Barring injury or strange game script, White is getting the rock today. Carolina’s run D is porous and if Vegas gets a lead White should get work
This is an emerging player. Five or six weeks from now we may wonder how he was ever under 50 yards in a game. Let’s grab it now.
Let the Zamir White 2024 breakout commence! I don't want to get carried away here but if this isn't the week for White, I don't know if and when he'll get going this season. The Panthers have already given up 333 combined yards to running backs in the first two games and White had a 63% snap rate last week. This might be a ladder play for me as well up to 80 yards.
First home game for their top pick in the draft, already getting 17 targets in his first two games, vs the worst team in the NFL that struggles vs TEs - hmm seems like a great spot for his first TD catch. Not sure who matches up on him, but I fancy Bowers chances of scoring on him. Raiders cant run ball, so passing TDs is their MO at a time when not much of that is going around
This massive rookie looks better and better with each quarter played and the Ravens had no match-up for him in 2nd half as he caught all 6 targets for 82 yards (9/9 for 98 in game). CAR allowed a 110.3 rating throwing to TE last season. Fab Moreau caught all 4 TAR for 43 yards vs them in blowout Week 1 (could have been much more). Gardner Minshew seems to love throwing to him. Even bigger games coming
Taking the Panthers last week because of an inflated spread turned out to be a terrible idea, as the offense simply was not functional without an NFL-caliber QB. But now Andy Dalton is under center, initially moving this line 1.5 points. I expected it to be more; Bryce Young simply showed no ability to move the ball more than a couple yards at a time. If we expect the offense to show similar improvement to what was expected prior to Week 1, why would this line be bigger than the Panthers-Saints line at +4? Yes, Derrick Brown is out, but the Raiders were nowhere near the Saints' level heading into the season, and they're coming off a late upset of the Ravens that screams hangover.
We want this under a touchdown, obviously. Panthers are the worst team in football and the guy they hired as head coach is totally overwhelmed and can't prepare them to play or put together a cogent game plan for a second-year QB who is somehow regressing from a brutal rookie season. The Raiders 8-2-1 ATS under Antonio Pierce, their DL is going to destroy the Carolina OL, they have legit match-up problems at WR and TE. Raiders have now allowed just 17 points per game under Pierce. Carolina has led for nine seconds over its last 10 games, it plays with no confidence or discernable strengths and has a -60 scoring differential already through two weeks.
