The Seahawks have gone through an absolute gauntlet over the last six weeks, while the Steelers have lost four straight games against teams not named the Bengals. Just because Pittsburgh managed to find some semblance of offense at home against Cincinnati last week does not mean it will succeed on the road in Seattle. The Seahawks have Geno Smith, Kenneth Walker and DK Metcalf active, while Minkah Fitzpatrick remains out for the Steelers. Seattle is 3-0-1 ATS over the last month, and while it does not have the rest edge, it does have home-field advantage against an offense that has largely struggled.
As it looks as if the Steelers have finally made a correct move at QB and gone to Mason Rudolph just in time to salvage this season, don't mind giving Mike Tomlin a look in what has been a profitable underdog role for him over the years. That Rudolph is a better option than Mitch Trubisku is no surprise, but he also makes it less important for Kenny Pickett, with an up-and-down season himself. hurrying back into active duty. The Seahawks have not been a margin team all season and cut it extremely close most weeks, so this hook on top of the the posted three could become very important on Sunday. Play Steelers
The Seahawks (8-7) have won their last two late under pressure by 20-17 scores. They had lost four straight until the recent success. It’s basically a playoff game for each squad. The wild wild-card round. The Steelers (8-7) came to life last week under backup QB Mason Rudolph who also got WR George Pickens into a nice new role of making plays. Everything worked well for the Steelers last week and I like them to play this game at a high level again. Steelers to cover.
Steelers linebacker Myles Jack replaced Elandon Roberts last week, knocked off the rust, and wore the green dot. He didn't miss a snap after coming in for Roberts, finishing with six tackles and two missed tackles in 47 snaps. DC Teryl Austin indicated he was pleased with Jack's debut and that he'll have the same role Sunday in Seattle, in large part due to the veteran's knowledge of the playbook.
Warren is the better and healthier back against a Sea D that is brutally bad v the run. This total is too low.
The Seahawks have allowed 20 rushing TDs this season, 29th in the NFL. The issue has been most acute over the past 10 games, allowing 15 in that span, including 12 to RBs. Mason Rudolph was the Steelers 3rd choice QB, no matter what he did last week. That's telling in that bad QB room. So him throwing a bunch at Seattle in a crazed playoff environment in the RZ seems illogical, even for Mike Sullivan, a bad play caller. Harris is the RZ back for PIT. Trubisky had an outlier vulture TD, but the Tush Push ain't their thing and Warren hasn't scored in 5 games. I'd suspect they stick with the big back in heavy packages in goal-to-go.
