The Ravens' leading receiver and leading tackler did not practice all week and are gametime decisions. In this divisional rivalry -- a rivalry in which Cincy has covered three straight and four of the past five -- this is too many points.
There isn't much exciting about making this play, but the spread is too large. Baltimore just hasn't been good enough defensively to justify the Ravens covering this spread, and the Ravens offense has gotten a little worse with each passing week. The Bengals have covered four of the last five meetings, and the dog has covered in 8 of the last 10. Take the points.
The Ravens lead the league in points scored, but their defense has proven shaky over the last few weeks, especially with the beat-up secondary. They also don't have the D-line to rough up the Bengals' front, which is what happened in Cincy's two blowout losses this year. Last year with a better defense, Baltimore barely won at home against the Bengals despite rushing for 267 yards with Lamar Jackson at the helm and no A.J. Green for the Bengals. I can't see a blowout here, not when the Ravens haven't been able to get one since destroying the Dolphins in Week 1.
Something isn't right with the Ravens defense this season. And to make matters worse, it will be without starting safety Tony Jefferson, who went down with a knee injury against the Steelers last week and is done for the year. Cincinnati's offense, more specifically the passing game, should find some success early against Baltimore.
