FanDuel. Payton Pritchard has cleared this line in 21/33 games this season. Without Jaylen Brown and Kristaps Porzingis available tonight, I’m expecting bigger minutes for the Oregon product, who averages 16.4 points per 30 minutes this season. It’s not a great team matchup, but I do expect Pritchard to see more on ball action without Brown - the Timberwolves are a below average pick and roll defense this season.
Anthony Edwards has scored 20 and 14 points the past two games, but this is a matchup in which he typically erupts. He has scored 28-plus points the last five times he has faced Boston, dating to the start of the 2022-23 season. He took at least 20 shots and played at least 38 minutes in all five. In the first meeting this season, Edwards played 39 minutes as Minnesota lost 107-105 in Boston. Look for another tight contest Thursday with Edwards playing big minutes and scoring 25-plus points.
Jumping on this line as it's been steaming north since it populated. This looks like a good spot for Anthony Edwards who has had a quiet month of December. Prior to that AE was averaging nearly 30 PPG so we're getting a sizable discount here. This game will have a lot of eyeballs on it and I think Edwards will be up for it.
Great buy low spot. Naz Reid is 3-7 to this number in his last 10 games, but the volume is there. He also averages 19 points and rebounds against Boston in his last three. Boston likes to get their opponents in a three-point race, and I think we should get 5+ attempts from Reid there. He'll either contribute to Minnesota keeping this game tight by playing well, or he'll get the minutes off the bench vs Boston's backups if it's a blowout.
When all of their cylinders are firing, the champion Celtics can seemingly score points whenever they wish, but it's also worth that they can play elite defense. They're allowing only a tick over 100 ppg across their last nine outings and boast some of the best defensive numbers in the league. Ditto on the latter for the T-wolves, though what looked a certain under on Tuesday vs. the Thunder instead landed a point over the posted 217 (113-105 OKC). Note the first meeting on Nov. 24 at TD Garden landed only 212 (107-105 Boston), and the Celtics hit tonight on a 6-3 under run. Meanwhile, Minnesota is 11-6-1 under its last 18 even with the OKC result on Tuesday. Play Celtics-Timberwolves Under
