DraftKings. This is a great spot for DeAndre Hunter to continue his recent scoring burst. The forward has cleared this line in each of his last eight games. The Bucks struggle to stop perimeter and mid-range scoring, as their bigs typically operate in drop coverage in the paint. Hunter has the ability to score at all three levels, but has been prolific as a jump shooter (43% overall, 45% from three). Hunter’s scoring profile suits this matchup a bit better than Jalen Johnson’s - even off the bench, I have the UVA product projected to clear 20 points.
De’Andre Hunter has scored at least 18 points in eight straight games. In seven of those games, he scored at least 20 points. That included a game against the Bucks in which he scored 20 points over 28 minutes. Helping his cause is that he is shooting 44.6% from behind the arc. With how locked in he is right now, I’m playing this over again.
Atlanta is playing superb basketball right now where they have won seven out of their last eight games. After trailing in the first half by double digits against the Knicks, they overtook the game with a tremendous second half. This Bucks team has endured an ugly start to the season and are back in the driver’s seat of an NBA Cup semi-finals appearance. Look for the Bucks to handle this better than they did last year against Indiana. Lay it with the Bucks.
The NBA is much more interesting when Trae Young and the Hawks are relevant. Awesome when he rolled the fake dice (on way to Vegas, get it?) on the MSG logo after upsetting the Knicks in the NBA Cup quarters. I do wish he did that in the 1990s, though, as Charles Oakley would have decapitated him and Anthony Mason probably would have kidnapped a family member and eaten said person. Yeah, I get joy off the Knicks getting their cheese eaten. The Bucks really seem to want this like the Lakers did last year. They are the only club returning to Vegas, where they lost last December in the semifinals of the NBA Cup. Giannis Antetokounmpo said the team has some "unfinished business."
