Going back to the proverbial well with Austin Reaves as he looks to get going as the Lakers head home down 0-2. This number is much closer to Reaves floor than his ceiling considering his playing time, usage, role, etc. Look for Reaves to bounce back at home.
Porter is easily to overlook, and I suspect that Murray gets a lot more attention tonight, but he is over this total in both games in this series so far, is being aggressive enough looking for his shot (at least 13 attempts in each game for a player who sometimes fades and gets too passive) and is shooting 16/28 from the floor against the Lakers. He can get very hot with the three ball as well and I project him to grab another 20 points tonight. Averaged 21.3/G against the LAK in three regular season games.
Lakers must have lost some of their soul with how they lost Game 2 at Denver and now they face the pressure of their season effectively ending if they lose tonight at home. Nuggets are superior and have yet to play close to their best game but liked the way Murray finally found his shot in the 4th quarter of Game 2, and this team knows how to pounce when it smells blood. Figured this line would tilt in our favor to pick up some plus money closer top tip-off. I like it
Austin Reaves is a much better shooter at home and I like him to clear his scoring prop for the first time this series. Since the start of March, he's gone Over this total in nine of 12 home games. Reaves is getting an average of 35 minutes in this series, so the opportunity should be there.
Nikola Jokic averaged 26.4 points over 35 minutes per game during the regular season. Now that the playoffs are here, Jokic will spend even more time on the court. He logged at least 39 minutes in both of the first two games of this season. That enabled him to score 32 points in Game 1 and 27 points in Game 2. The Lakers need a win to have any chance of making a comeback in this series, so expect this to be a close battle. That should lead to enough minutes and shot attempts for Jokic to hit this over.
Not going to over think this here. This is below Austin Reaves' season average and is a response to two recent low production nights. Reaves saw less minutes because of D'Angelo Russell's massive night in Game 2, and i'll take my chances we don't see that again from Russell again in Game 3. This is available at 12.5 at some spots, and I see this quickly steaming by Thursday night. The Sportsline Model has Reaves projected for almost 15 points in 32 minutes.
The Nuggets have 10 straight wins over the Lakers. They own them. All we really need here is an outright win. Nuggets were sluggish and maybe a little too full of themselves in the first half at home in the first two games. Road should get them refocused from the start. Lakers look spent from games in altitude and now whining about officiating. Denver is just too deep and too good. This is going to be another sweep for a team on a mission with clutch performers in the front court and back court
