Murray only goes over this number if A) He shoots 70% from the field AND takes more shots than projected OR B) He makes 6 threes and hits 67% from behind the arc. Bet against the outlier game. Plus this is in Mexico City…ALTITUDE= tired= play a few les minutes. Bingo
Analysis to come.
The NBA travels to Mexico City today as the Atlanta Hawks and Orlando Magic meet. The Magic appeared to be going in the right direction after two strong wins, including one over the Lakers. Yet, in their last matchup they surrendered a double digit halftime lead of thirteen points to the Dallas Mavericks. They scored just thirty six second half points. Look for the Hawks to take advantage on the international stage.
Magic point guard Markelle Fultz (left knee soreness) is questionable for this Mexico City matchup versus Atlanta. In his absence the past three games, Jalen Suggs dished out three, five and seven assists. Even assuming Fultz plays, he likely won't play 30-plus minutes. It's the same knee in which Fultz tore his ACL in 2020. The Hawks are below average defensively and have given up the eighth-most assists (27.6 per game).
Probably wouldn't play this if in Orlando, but it's in Mexico City. The Magic really miss injured center Wendell Carter regardless, but the Hawks really might punish them down low with the trio of Onyeka Okongwu (.628%, 10th), Jalen Johnson (.575%, 14th) and Clint Capela (.564 FG%, 18th) all ranking in the NBA's Top 20 in field-goal percentage and all three grabbing at least 12 rebounds last time out. Johnson is one of the most improved players in the NBA. Atlanta is one of three teams to be averaging at least 120.0 points and 25.0 assists per game.
