Understanding Public and Money

PA has been bad. But this is a great spot for him to turn it. Prolly won’t walk and has been moved UP in the lineup
Jose Quintana owns a 3.86 road ERA. But, in September, he owned a 0.72 ERA in four starts. His last start was against this Brewers team, allowing two runs in 4.1 innings. Tobias Myers owns a 2.86 home ERA and shut out New York in the same game Quintana started. The Mets have had 15 hits and nine walks in the first two games and will need to capitalize with runners in scoring position. The public is heavily on Milwaukee and the line keeps creeping in the Mets favor.
In any postseason sport involving a series, leaving the door open usually comes back to bite a team. That is the case for the New York Mets who unraveled in the eighth inning yesterday. Now the Brewers have Tobias Myers on the mound who is fresh. Over his last two regular season starts he threw just 49 and 56 pitches. Take the Brewers to close out the Mets and advance to the NLDS.
I like the way the Brewers pitching sets up better here with Tobias Myers over Jose Quintana and then both Devin Williams and Trevor Megill looking good in Game 2 without being overworked. The Mets were running on fumes and vibes, but didn't score after the second inning in Game 2 and Francisco Lindor is clearly compromised. The Brewers saved their season in the eighth inning in Game 2 and will stay alive to the next round now.
I don't like either of these franchises so don't much care which advances (well, I'll never root for a New York team to succeed in anything), although it certainly would be better theater to see Mets-Phillies than Brewers-Phils in the NLDS. If this were the NBA, I might say the "fix" is in for big-market NY. New York's bullpen has to be completely fried by this point but just something about this team. Tonight's starter Jose Quintana had a 0.72 ERA in September and has playoff experience, while Brewers rookie Tobias Myers has none (he could follow an opener). I simply expect a one-run game either way.
We are wondering if Phil Maton even shows up tonight for the Mets in their bullpen after giving up a pair of homers in the 8th inning on Wednesday and sidetracking the Mets from closing out this best-of-three in the wildcard round. But the pitching matchup still looks good for New York tonight because of Jose Quintana, who hadn't given up a run in three September starts before facing these same Brewers on this same field last Saturday and allowing a pair of runs, which upped his ERA for the month to....0.72. Meanwhile, Pat Murphy has had Tobias Myers on a shorter leash lately, as his more-recent starts have mostly been around four innings. Play Mets on Money Line
