That was a gutsy move by Kris Knoblauch in the Vancouver series, first yanking Stuart Skinner out of the Oilers goal after Game 3, then going back to him for Games 6 & 7 against the Canucks. Skinner performed admirably in those last two games, but his postseason form has still been erratic and a far cry from that 1.33 GAA he posted in February. We suspect there is a big goalie edge here to the Stars with Jake Oettinger, and if Dallas could slow down the high-scoring Avs in the last round, the Stars are capable of the same vs. the Oilers. I think this series is going to be our best bet to see some fireworks with goal-scoring. Two of three meetings between Dallas and Edmonton this season ended with 7+ goals, and six of the last eight have hit that mark. The key trend I hope to see continue is the pace of both of these teams respective Game 1s this postseason. Edmonton's two opening games finished with nine and 11 goals, while both of Dallas's Game 1s ended with 7 goals. I'll nab the over in what should be a fun matchup.
Guess we have to take this simply as FanDuel is the only book with 6.5. Jake Oettinger has settled in for Dallas, allowing just one goal each in three of his final four games against another high-powered offense in Colorado. Edmonton's Stuart Skinner is not as good but played great the final two games of the Vancouver series after being benched. Really no score here would shock me, but if I see an outlier price in anything, I'll roll the dice.
