The Cardinals are coming off a big loss to the Rams on Monday night looking to get right with a win, but I don't understand the incentive to come into Detroit and throw the ball a ton, putting Kyler Murray in position to take shots if Detroit can generate pressure. The Lions are down their best offensive players, but they beat the Vikings without De'Andre Swift so I think they can score some points against an Arizona defense that has been a little shaky in the second half of the season. Even last week, the Lions competed well for about a half then fell apart after the break. To me, there's a little bit of value on the huge home 'dog in this spot.
Can the Lions find enough consistent offense against the Cardinals defense? That's the million dollar question, and I believe the answer is "no." I expect the Cardinals to rebound. They won't let last week's loss to the Rams become this week's problem. Look for them to take care of business.
It's a short week for Arizona, which has lost Pro Bowl receiver DeAndre Hopkins for at least the rest of the regular season in the wake of Monday's crushing loss to the Rams. Running back James Conner, No. 2 in the NFL with 16 TDs, is in question with an ankle injury. Detroit is awful offensively even at full strength and probably won't be near that as D'Andre Swift and TJ Hockenson may miss another game.
