The Cowboys' injuries concern me. The Chargers' one-two punch of Justin Herbert and Keenan Allen does, too. However, Los Angeles getting three points for homefield advantage given it basically has none -- and is facing one of the best travel teams in the NFL -- is a bit ridiculous. The Cowboys offense with Dak Prescott is so explosive that not even the league's best defenses will be able to contain it for four quarters, and the Chargers certainly do not have one of those. Without a coaching or homefield edge, it's tough to find reasons to take LA -- to the point that I will also sprinkle on Dallas straight up. This should be a great game, but the Cowboys should cover.
I’m buying that Dallas QB Dak Prescott is back and healed after showcasing his skills in Week 1 at Tampa Bay. I’m also buying that the Chargers defense will have trouble slowing down the Cowboys. This should be a high-scoring affair with lots of yardage gained on each side in front a crowd that should feel like a home game for Dallas. I took the points with the Cowboys.
I'm also going to play the Cowboys on the moneyline. This game is priced as if this a true road game for Dallas against a team with significant home field advantage. This will be more like a home game for Dallas than it will the Chargers in LA. I make the Cowboys -1.1 points better in what I'm going to call a neutral site game against the Chargers. Dak was fantastic in week 1, and should continue that success in a better matchup. Look for some success with Zeke and Pollard to really open things up for Dak, Cooper, Lamb and the tight ends.

I want to jump on this early in the week as I don't expect threes to be available closer to kickoff. The Cowboys took it to the defending champs in Week 1, and in particular the defense played better than expected (final score notwithstanding). The Cowboys offense should put up points in every matchup, particularly if Zack Martin is back as expected. And we know the Chargers have no home-field advantage in L.A., and it may even be negative in this matchup considering the popularity of the Cowboys. You wouldn't make a neutral-site game between these two teams anywhere near three, which should tell you this line has value on the Dallas side.
