The Bears continue to be abysmal ATS and offensively. In a winnable game last week against the Rams, Chicago failed to execute in all phases. Early missed field goals, poor offense and a late Rams touchdown cost the Bears the cover. Through all the issues they’re still a strong defensive team. Look for the defense to put the offense in position to cover the number against the Giants. Take Chicago.
The injury news is better for the Giants than the Bears. And with Chicago struggling offensively all year, I'm taking the points with the rested G-Men. Even if they fall behind by 10-plus, Daniel Jones is capable of getting us a backdoor cover.
Possible bad news for the Bears: QB Mitch Trubisky (hip) might be healthy enough to start. Surrounded by limited talent, he appears helpless at times, and Chicago has no business giving a half-dozen points. Only one SU and ATS win in the last six outings is a deterrent to a team normally strong at home in November. The Giants are roadsters, with a recent 9-3 ATS away record. WR Sterling Shepard (concussion) has not been cleared but is practicing and could rejoin an improving offense.
Coming off of a bye week, the Giants hope for a better effort from their defense. While the Bears do have offensive weapons on the perimeter, their QB situation is in shambles. What keeps me from trusting New York in this matchup is rookie QB Daniel Jones' propensity to turn over the ball. And he will be facing one of the better defenses in the NFL in Chicago.
