FanDuel. Amir Coffey is averaging 13.1 points per 30 minutes with both Norman Powell and Kawhi Leonard off the court. With the Clippers to be without their two stars tonight (as well as Ben Simmons), I like Coffey to emerge as a complement to the James Harden/Ivica Zubac pick and roll. Should be a solid individual matchup for Coffey, as the Pistons lack plus defenders in the wing (sans Ausar Thompson, who likely will draw the Harden matchup).
Second of a back-to-back for both. I just assumed that Kawhi Leonard and Norman Powell would play for LA after neither did Sunday at Indiana -- we cashed fading the Clips there -- but they are out again. So is Ben Simmons in the second of a B2B. We make fun of that dude and deservedly but he has been a solid contributor off the bench. With no Kawhi, the Clips don't have anyone to realistically check Pistons All-Star Cade Cunningham. Detroit's six-game winning streak is its longest since 2014-15. The Pistons are 5th in NBA with a 11.8 net rating in February.
The Clippers are 19-10 at home, but just 12-15 on the road. Improving their road record will be difficult with Norman Powell, Kawhi Leonard and Ben Simmons all out against the Pistons. The Clippers have lost each of the last six games that Powell hasn’t played. The Pistons have won six straight games and come into this matchup mostly healthy, so I like them to cover this small number at home.
