Which Mavs guard to play tonight with half the roster out? I pondered Spencer Dinwiddie but he's a retread and usual reserve. 22-year-old Max Christie is part of the team's future and might actually turn the Luka Doncic trade from utter Schrute Farms manure to, I dunno, 5-year-old cottage cheese. So if I'm Jason Kidd, don't I plan my offense around the promising young kid? But I don't rule out Dinwiddie going all Teen Wolf, either. Our model basically has them at the same P/R/A but Christie is set a point lower is all this is.
Both the Miami Heat and Dallas Mavericks are on the second half of a back to back. The Mavs won behind Kyrie Irving’s huge performance, but I was more impressed with the Miami Heat and the way they played for three quarters against the Thunder. I believe that confidence carries over against the banged-up Mavericks.
For the second time in a week, the Miami Heat had a disastrous fourth quarter performance. After a nine point fourth quarter performance against Brooklyn, the Heat dipped one point lower to the Thunder with eight fourth quarter points last night. Look for the Heat to take their frustrations out on the court tonight against a Mavericks team that exerted a lot of energy in their win over the Warriors. The Heat are also getting more comfortable and adjusted to their new trade acquisitions in Andrew Wiggins and Davion Mitchell. Lay it with the Heat.

DraftKings. After a slow start, Bam Adebayo turned the corner on his season. He’s cleared this line in eight straight games, and in general, is over in 15/26 without Jimmy Butler this season. He gets a Mavs squad who will be out their entire front line (Anthony Davis, Daniel Gafford, PJ Washington, Dwight Powell). And while there are always questions of motivation the last game before the All Star break, the Heat have lost three straight games, and should be looking to end their first half on a high-note.
