Cleveland didn’t exert themselves last night to win against Golden State. And LeBron is now 40 and talking about how he wants to show the world he is still playing at a high-level. I will take the over.
DMitch didn’t play much last night. Plus I don’t see this is a blowout, LeBron will get after it v old team and I like DMitch to shoot early and often.
As a reminder to pay attention (sometimes) to the Lakers' daily injury reports, LeBron James actually missed the Sunday game vs. the Kings (Anthony Davis, however, continues to play despite his sore ankle). Tonight, LeBron figures to be on the floor vs. his old team, which has started this Western Conference road trip in fine fashion with wins at Denver and Golden State. Though the Cavs had a recent five-game over streak, in the past ten days they have also allowed just 99 to the Sixers and 95 to the Warriors. The Lake Show might not be anxious run tonight after getting blown off of the court at Cleveland back on October 30 in a 134-110 Cavs romp. Play Cavs-Lakers Under
Darius Garland has combined for at least nine rebounds and assists in seven of his last eight games. While he didn’t grab a rebound against the Lakers the first time these two teams met, he finished with 10 assists in just 22 minutes. The Lakers have allowed the sixth-most assists per game and the 13th-most rebounds per game in the league. If Garland can play closer to 30 minutes in this rematch, he could blow past this over.
The Cavaliers just played Monday, but Donovan Mitchell only logged 27 minutes in their lopsided victory over the Warriors. Still, he scored 23 points. He is averaging 24.6 points per game on the road this season, compared to 22.7 points per game at home. The last time he faced the Lakers, he scored 24 points over 30 minutes in a blowout win in Cleveland. I think the Lakers keep this game closer at home, leaving Mitchell with a favorable opportunity to hit this over.
The Cleveland Cavaliers are playing tremendous basketball and sport an outstanding and NBA best record of 28-4. While they're getting contributions everywhere, Donovan Mitchell has been highly efficient. We're getting a discount on his scoring line as Mitchell is averaging 23.6 PPG.
