Second of a B2B for both. Obviously road/road is worse (Chicago) than road/home (Detroit). This is a big game for the Pistons franchise as it looks to reach .500 16 games into the season for the first time since 2018-19, and the team is eyeing its first three-game winning streak since late in the 2021-22 season. As for my Bulls, I'm completely apathetic at this point. No direction whatsoever and not bad enough to get Cooper Flagg in next year's draft. In the past two games, the Bulls are allowing an average of 143.5 PPG. Not even Tim Floyd managed that. Pistons center Jalen Duren has recorded three straight double-doubles in the series if thinking a prop.
Josh Giddey played just 21 minutes with the Bulls getting blown out by the Rockets on Sunday. Still, he combined for 23 points, rebounds and assists. In 14 games this season, Giddey has recorded at least 22 combined points, rebounds and assists 11 times. The Bulls should be able to keep this game close against the Pistons, leaving Giddey with a favorable opportunity to reach this over.
Both of these teams played Sunday and were involved in blowouts. The Pistons beat the Wizards by 20 points, while the Bulls lost to the Rockets by 36 points. The quotes from the Bulls after the game indicated that the players were disgusted by their performance, so expect them to come out fired up to play better Monday. It’s worth noting that the game against the Rockets was at home, where the Bulls are just 1-5. They are 4-4 on the road. The Pistons might deal the Bulls another loss, but the Bulls can keep this close enough to cover the spread.
We're getting a hefty discount on this combo line for Josh Giddey, who is averaging a combined 24.9 points, assists and rebounds. He has seen some reduced minutes but that can largely be attributed to the Bulls getting blown out in consecutive games, in addition to Giddey struggling. This looks like a bounceback spot for both the Bulls and Giddey against a subpar Pistons team. I project Giddey for 25-28 minutes.
