The Spurs are 4-0 SU and ATS as favorites this season, the only club without a loss in either. They are also healthy and have won two straight. San Antonio won in DC less than two weeks ago as well by four points. Washington has two victories in its past 14 games and hasn't won back-to-back games all season -- it comes off a win Saturday in Detroit.
The San Antonio Spurs are on a rare winning streak having won their last two games. Overall they have won three out of their last five games, which includes a road win over tonight’s opponent in the Washington Wizards. Additionally, they have won by double figures the last three times they were favorites this season. Lay it with the Spurs.
Surprised the books are still offering 3.5 and not 4.5 -- although this price is about 25 cents higher than Wemby's last game so this might be our last look at 3.5.
This has been my favorite betting angle of the season and despite the steep price here it's a fantastic matchup. For starters, Wemby leads the NBA in blocks per game at 3.1. Impressive considering he is a rookie that has been on a minutes cap for the majority of the season. This is a great matchup against a Washington squad that plays at the 2nd fastest pace in the league (more possessions = more opportunities), but they surrender a combined 13.3 stocks (blocks + steals) per game, good for the 4th most in the NBA. We also love seeing Wemby log 30 mins for the first time since December 15th. I am very comfortable taking this prop at 4.5 at plus money as well.
