Keyonte George is quietly having an excellent rookie season for the Jazz. He's surprisingly an advanced playmaker and has been Utah's starting PG over the last 8 games. George has eclipsed this line in 7 of those 8 games while averaging over 11 combined RA. No Lauri Markkanen tonight which could lead to some additional usage for George.
George is simply getting better by the game. The line hasn’t adjusted and with George getting minutes (especially with no Lauri M. tonight) he should go over.
That was a tough one for the Pels on Saturday, blowing a late 11-point lead before bowing in Salt Lake City. That also happened to be a rest night for Zion Williamson, who should be ready to go tonight and a big plus for 'Nawlins, which is 1-3 minus Zion this season. The Pels recently swept a back-to-back vs. the high-flying Kings, and remember Utah had lost four straight and eight of ten before Saturday night. Play Pelicans
No accident, maybe, that the Jazz decided to slow the pace on Saturday vs. these same Pelicans as they had done in preceding games vs. the Lakers and Blazers. All three of those games landed on the under side, including the win on Saturday vs. 'Nawlins, after the Jazz were taking some lumps going uptempo. The Pels will be looking to avenge that Saturday loss in the quick turnaround, and might be able to do so, but this new-look Utah might not be having totals in the 230s anytime soon. Clarkson's usage should go way up tonight with Jazz leading scorer Lauri Markkanen out. Clarkson was questionable but has been cleared. Last season, Clarkson averaged 23.3 points, 6.0 assists in six games without Markkanen.
Utah beat New Orleans 105-100 two days ago on this same floor, as Zion Williamson rested. He is expected to play Monday and that will make a huge difference. The Pelicans have won the last five games Williamson has played in, with the power forward averaging 25.6 points, 5.4 assists and 5.0 rebounds. Those five games came against the Nuggets, Kings (twice), Mavericks and Clippers -- so no lightweights. Utah's top two scorers, Lauri Markannen and Jordan Clarkson, are questionable.
