It's been a struggle for the Jazz, who have lost seven of their last eight games. Their only win during that span came against the rebuilding Rockets. Injuries have not helped their cause, and they will continue to deal with them in this game with Collin Sexton (hamstring) and Kelly Olynyk (ankle) out. The Cavaliers have a mostly clean injury report and have won four of their last five games. There might be some extra motivation for them to help Donovan Mitchell get a win in his return to Utah, too. Take the Cavaliers.
Donovan Mitchell (28.8 ppg, 48.8 percent shooting) makes his return to Salt Lake City as the Cavs visit the slumping Jazz. Utah has lost nine of 12, including a 23-point loss in Cleveland on Dec. 19. The Cavs have won four of five and will go all-out to get Mitchell a victory on this emotional night. With this number trending higher, I'll back the Cavs laying 2.5 at -115.
Tuesday game. Utah has turned into what it was supposed to be all along: Bad. It has lost seven of eight and will be missing key players Collin Sexton and Kelly Olynyk along with reserve Talen-Horton Tucker in this one. The Cavs are healthy -- at least as of now on the official injury report. Utah lost 122-99 in Cleveland earlier this season. This will be much closer but still should result in a Cavs W. Think I'll be betting over whatever Donovan Mitchell's points total is set at as he plays his first game back in Utah since the big trade this summer.
