Luka Doncic certainly didn’t look rusty in his return from a calf injury. He logged 34 minutes in Game 4, recording 30 points, 10 rebounds, four assists and two steals. The Mavericks still lost, but by just one point in a series that is now tied up at 2-2. The Mavericks have outplayed the Jazz for much of this series, and that’s with Doncic appearing in only one game. Even further removed from injury, and back at home, I like Doncic and the Mavericks to put the Jazz on the brink of elimination with a win Monday.
It's a new day! (Thank goodness after a brutal Sunday.) I will play this with the 76ers over the Raptors. The Mavericks should be up 3-1 in the series but blew a late four-point lead on Saturday in Salt Lake City. Luka Doncic looked good in his return from injury and two more days further from that should only help him. Utah star Donovan Mitchell is getting his points but is shooting just 39.7 percent from the field. For what it's worth, the home team has taken each of the last seven regular season meetings. Yes, Utah won Game 1 in Dallas, but that was without Doncic. The Jazz have covered just six of their past 25 away games overall, but we'll take the ML.
The Mavericks are now 4-3 against the Jazz this season, with two of the losses being by a total of seven points. I think the Mavericks will play much better in Luka Doncic's second game back. I don't think Utah will get 42 free-throw attempts either. Dallas is 16-4 this season after scoring fewer than 100 points. Take the Mavericks.
