Jack Flaherty starts for Detroit tonight, and he's somebody Fernando Tatis has plenty of familiarity with. In 13 plate appearances, Tatis is 7-for-10 with two homers, four doubles, two walks and only one strikeout.

The Detroit Tigers won have won six out of their past seven series, and took yesterday’s opener against the Padres. Early in the season San Diego has had road flaws where they are below .500 with a 4-6 record. Yet, the Padres had runners on base consistently yesterday against the Tigers. Jack Flaherty has yet to pitch six innings or more this season, leaving the door open for the Padres late. Take San Diego to bounce back from yesterday’s game one loss.

Caesar’s. Jack Flaherty gets a tough matchup against the strikeout-resistant Padres. San Diego once again owns the lowest strikeout rate against right-handed pitchers (17.4%). Against power arms (pitchers in the top third of combined strikeout plus walk rate, per baseball reference), the Padres remain stingy at 20% K%. Even with Luis Arraez out of the lineup, this is a great spot to fade the Tigers starter.
