The Yankees have won four of the last five from Boston. They look like they're about to start another winning streak as they did with their four-game streak before losing in the 9th inning to the Royals Thursday, 4-3. Then they came up yesterday to Fenway and won like a machine. Cooper Criswell lost two of his last three starts and gave up four runs to Chicago in a loss and 11 runs to Baltimore in a loss. Carlos Rodon has won seven starts in a row. This is the dominant Rodon that the Yankees didn't get last year. Yankees win.
I mean, if it ain't broke don't fix it. Yanks starter Carlos Rodon has won seven in a row and all have been quality starts. Rob Refsnyder is really the only Boston batter with good splits against him. No offense to the Refsnyder clan, but if you are worried about a bet because of Rob Refsnyder then you are in the wrong business/hobby/whatever. And, yes, I do like saying Refsnyder. Boston's Cooper Refsnyder ... err Criswell was a nice surprise early this season but then remembered he's a Refsnyder with a 6.45 ERA over his past five.
It's a bit like trick-or-treaters on Halloween returning to the same house over and over again because it gives out the best candy. So, too, are the oddsmakers satisfying our sweet tooth with the Yankees, and continuing to post appetizing prices. Even laying the extra run, any time the Bronx Bombers are available at near even-money makes it a must-recommendation, especially as they're now 12-3 across their last 15 after romping the Fenway series opener last night. The Yanks have also won the last seven starts made by Carlos Rodon, and nothing special the other way about performances from Bosox starter Cooper Criswell, fortunate to last as many as five innings most starts. Play Yankees on Run Line
We keep riding Yanks RL on the road. As we placed this bet, NYY were on their way to going a 14th road in by 2 runs or more in an 18-game span. And the BoSox were on their way to going 11-25 ATS at home. Better park for the Yanks. Yanks have the better starter and the better lineup. In Carlos Rodon's last 9 starts the Yanks are 8-1, all wins by 2 runs or more.
