The Rays called up top prospect Taj Bradley to make this start. He's got terrific stuff and dominated last season at the Double-A and Triple-A levels. Behind him is a bullpen with a 1.58 ERA, best in the AL. Boston's Chris Sale has not looked good so far, serving up four homers in eight innings. That does not bode well against the undefeated Rays; they've belted an MLB-high 29 homers during their incredible start.
The Rays have jumped out to an 11-0 start and they’re starting one of their top prospects in Taj Bradley, who makes his MLB debut. Chris Sale makes his second start of the season, and Boston is 2-0 behind him, but he gave up seven runs in his first start and three runs in his second. Sale has 13 strikeouts in eight innings, but he also has served up four home runs. The Rays have won 19 of their last 24 at home against the Red Sox. I'm riding the streak. Rays to win.
Tampa Bay's Taj Bradley will make his major league debut this evening. Zach Eflin was projected to start but was placed on the 15-day IL due to a back injury. Bradley posted a 2.57 ERA in Double and Triple-A last season. He might not go long but is backed by the AL's top bullpen with a 1.58 ERA. Boston's Chris Sale has struggled with his command in his first two starts and now faces the hottest team in the baseball, batting .281 with a .958 OPS at home this season. Sale has given up 10 earned runs off 11 hits in his first eight innings of work this season. I'm on Tamp Bay.
The Rays did it again Tuesday, defeating the Red Sox to improve to 11-0. The Rays scored seven runs in the victory and there have been at least nine combined runs scored in seven of their games. They should score plenty against Chris Sale, who has allowed 10 runs through eight innings. The Red Sox could also hold their own versus Taj Bradley, who will be making his first start in the majors with Zach Eflin (back) having landed on the IL.
Don't mind me just looking for the double-up. We hit the Over 7.5 Tuesday between these two teams and quite frankly should have seen more than nine runs. Yes there is a fade element to Tampa coming at any moment but I'll be greedy and roll the dice one more time. Boston starter Chris Sale has given up 10 total earned runs in two starts this season and the Rays are averaging 8.5 runs per game vs. lefties. The Sox should also see a bit more success at the plate as well. If you're looking for prop bets, give a glance to Yandy Diaz and Wander Franco, notably their statistical history against Sale.
