Waiting as long as possible paid off as we got the hook -- whether it matters or not is obviously another story. But strange things often happen in MACtion. No doubt Bowling Green should be favored as CMU is truly horrendous defensively, but the weather in Mount Pleasant (the armpit of Michigan) is not conducive tonight to a lot of points, and that's why the total has dropped five or so since open. Central basically has to win out to get a bowl spot, so I expect embattled coach Jim McElwain to throw the kitchen sink at the Falcons. CMU is 3-1 at home and that loss was by just two points to Ohio, which is probably better than Bowling Green. Fire Up Chips!
The Falcons are comin g off their signature win against Toledo only to face a murky spot in Tuesday's MACtion contest. The Chippewas have seen two of their three conference losses come by 4 points or fewer and they should be sticky in what rates to be a MAC grinder in slippery conditions.
This is my favorite play for this Tuesday night MACtion matchup. Both offenses average 27 or more points per game this season, and neither defense has been particularly effective. This game total should easily get into the 50's.
This is Tuesday night MACtion at its finest. On paper, Bowling Green has the advantage -- especially when the Falcons are on offense. That said, Central Michigan getting two full touchdowns at home seems a bit excessive to me. I expect both offenses to have plenty of success, and the Chippewas have the rushing attack to shorten this game and keep it close. I'm going to take the points and back the home underdog here.
