The Panthers were able to finally win a playoff series last season but then they were swept by the Lightning in the second round. The Lightning have gotten off to a slow start this season and it’s understandable. They know when to turn it on for the playoffs, they won’t make or miss the playoffs in the first month. I think the Panthers will also have revenge on their minds after the series last season while the Lightning won’t necessarily look at this game any different than any other. The Panthers were 34-7-0 at home last season, I like them at home tonight.

The Panthers are playing a more aggressive style of hockey on defense. The Lightning swept the Panthers out of playoffs last season. Florida's new scheme just might catch the Lighting off guard. Let's take the hungry host!

Friday game. I told you as the season started that the Bolts were good fade candidates for a while because they probably would be worn out from playing so much hockey the past three seasons. They sure look like it so far. This is also the front end of a back-to-back so maybe we'll get Brian Elliott, and if that's the case this ML would skyrocket -- although I'd guess he plays Saturday. Think this might be personal for the Panthers off that shocking sweep against Tampa Bay in the second round of the playoffs?
