The Oilers have won four straight contests despite getting outshot in three of them. In fact, Edmonton is 7-3 in its last 10 games, even though it was outshot seven times in that stretch. Colorado is 8-2 in its last 10, outshooting its opponents in eight games by a whopping 398-269 margin. The Oilers have allowed 450 shots in 12 postseason games, while Colorado has yielded 270 in 10. The Avalanche rank No. 1 in postseason shot differential (+128) while the Oilers are ninth (-31). Edmonton is 3-7 this season when playing with three or more days of rest, while Colorado is 8-1-1. I like the Avalanche in Game 1.
I truly can't wait for this series. Very excited as a former pond hockey player. I think Wendy was our goaltender. She was awesome. Pretty sure I was in pink Katarina Witt skates. Not by choice, believe me. So, yeah, fights. Do I think the Avs win Game 1? Probably, but getting Edmonton cheaper than an Avalanche outright win just has to be played. I am generally an Under person but this feels like a shootout 5-4 type series. Gonna wait and see Game 1.
