If the market is giving us the hook, I'm going to take it, because I can't tell you with any confidence which is the better team here. The futures market would tell you it's Atlanta, but I have no reason to expect the Falcons defense to be better this year, while the offense hinges on a 28-year-old journeyman running back being able to get the lion's share of touches and a very talented rookie dominating immediately to take some of the attention off Calvin Ridley. The Eagles will be in a better situation on both sides of the ball this year with better health, and Jalen Hurts is talented enough to excel in plus matchups, which is what I think we have here.
Many people who cover the NFL are sleeping on the Eagles in 2021. They have arguably the best offensive line in the NFC, a very good defensive front and explosive elements to their running game. All of that is coupled with the fact that Jalen Hurts is the perfect QB to really make Philadelphia's offense go. It's just hard to trust Atlanta's defense in this spot.
