Yes, I was hoping this would drop under 3 and we will jump while it has. Arizona was pretty bad against the run last year and JJ Watt isn't going to fix that as good as he is. Big numbers likely for Derrick Henry. The Cards closed last year on a 2-7 ATS run.
This is one of those games that's maddening to pick because my numbers have the Titans as 5 points better at home, yet the X-factor of Kyler Murray and his improved set of playmakers is always present. Further complicating matters is Mike Vrabel's conservative nature coaching Tennessee compared against Kliff Kingsbury's mind-boggling decision making for Arizona. The hope for Titans fans should be that their defense can take even half a step up from their near-bottom ranked unit in 2021. If slight improvements can be made and Tennessee can post just an average defense, it's talented crop of playmakers should be able to cover now that we are under a key number.
Both teams play a little up tempo, but we feel in Year 3 for Kliff Kingsbury and Kyler Murray the Cardinals will take it to another level. We have two top-10 offenses and two below average defenses. Tennessee is 22-12 over the past two years.
The Titans are a legitimate Super Bowl contender, while Arizona coach Kliff Kingsbury is on the hot seat as he enters his third season. He’s always got a creative game plan and the QB to run it well, but third down is a problem for Kyler Murray. He stresses, doesn’t convert most of the time, and then pouts on the sideline. But when looking at the Titans No. 28-ranked defense from 2020, I think Murray and his new weapons can gash them and possibly pull off the outright win.
The Cardinals have stayed Under in their last eight road games, but I’m going to dismiss that stat because I believe the Titans will control the flow and score in bunches, forcing Arizona to play catch-up for most of the contest. Tennessee has gone Over in 16 of its last 21 home games. The Over is 23-10 in the Titans' last 33 overall contests, and their offense is mostly intact. Throw in their addition of WR Julio Jones, and the Over is the top play.
