Miller should eat in a pace matchup. Atlanta will often have massive defensive lapses that should allow Miller over.
The Hornets are coming off back-to-back wins over the Grizzlies and Pacers. They played both of those games at home, which is where they will be again when they take on the Hawks. They might have actually improved their depth at the trade deadline, bringing in Tre Mann, Grant Williams, Seth Curry and Vasilije Micic. Mann and Micic have been key since LaMelo Ball (ankle) has remained sidelined. The Hawks are just 9-17 ATS on the road this season, so while they might win, I don’t think they cover this big number.
Tre Mann has started both games since being acquired from the Thunder. First, he dished out nine assists against the Grizzlies last Saturday. He followed that up with seven assists against the Pacers on Monday. This is a great matchup for him against a Hawks team that has allowed the fourth-most assists per game in the league. Pay the juice and take the over.
Tre Mann was acquired at the trade deadline in a deal that sent Gordon Hayward to the Thunder. Mann is a 23 year old guard that has flashed some impressive upside at times but was in a log jam on the Thunder who possess one of the most talented and deepest rosters in the league. Mann has played big minutes in his two appearances since joining the Hornets however this RA doesnt make a lot of sense to me and feels way too big even in a great matchup.
Admittedly, I was a bit late on the Brandon Miller hype train but I would consider myself fashionably late. Miller reminds me a lot of a young Paul George. This is an excellent matchup against a Hawks team that we love targeting as they play at the 2nd fastest pace in the league and they pair that with being ranked with the 2nd to last in total Defense.
