The Pacers were super impressive blowing out the 76ers last night. The Suns are playing well but are overvalued in this spot. This is way too many points. I’ll take the dog.
The schedule dynamics seem to work well for the Suns, who had last night off (following their Wednesday romp at Dallas, and a seventh win in a row) while the Pacers emptied their chambers in racing past the Sixers in a rousing effort. But it was also Indy's first win with Pascal Siakam, whose presence should be a benefit, and it's also a quick turnaround from Sunday in the desert when Phoenix needed 40 points from KD to stave off the Pacers. Devin Booker then stepped up with 46 vs. the Mavs, but the Suns might be pressing their luck if they need these 40+ efforts from their stars. An Indy effort close to last night's could reverse last weekend's result. Play Pacers
Myles Turner is not a great rebounder for a center. He spends a lot of time on the perimeter, which has contributed to him averaging a modest 7.1 rebounds per game for the season. Since Pascal Siakam joined the Pacers, Turner has six or fewer rebounds in two of four games. Going back even further, Turner has six or fewer rebounds in four of his last seven games. The Suns have allowed the second-fewest rebounds per game in the league, which included them holding Turner to just two rebounds when these teams met Sunday.
Every other book has at least -210 so guess we get a bit of value. The Suns just beat the Pacers not long ago in Phoenix by seven, and Kevin Durant & Co. are the most unstoppable offensive force in the league at the moment even though Indiana ranks first in scoring. That said, probably don't play this if not the second of a B2B for the Pacers. Big man Jalen Smith (10.4 ppg, 5.5 rpg) may sit out as he was a game-time call Thursday with a back problem but played in the upset of Philly yet somehow managed to foul out in nine minutes. Fouling out in nine minutes is Greg Kite-like impressive.
