The Pacers are going to be without Tyrese Haliburton (hamstring) for at least the next two weeks. He is averaging 23.6 points per game, so his absence will create a significant void within the Pacers’ offense. Never one to shy away from added shot attempts is Bennedict Mathurin, who scored 26 points in 29 minutes with Haliburton going down early Monday against the Celtics. He has already scored at least 18 points in five of his last six games. Expect him to reach that threshold again in this potentially high-scoring matchup.
No Tyrese Haliburton (hamstring) tonight or for apparently the next couple of weeks for the Pacers, who will be marching forward in the near-term without their top scorer. Still, Rick Carlisle's operation has featured various stars this season, as on any given night it could be Myles Turner, Bennedict Mathurin, or Buddy Hield as the catalyst, and Indiana hits tonight 7-1 SU and vs. the line its last eight games. There is also never a case for the Wizards, who have lost eight of nine (3-6 vs. line in those) in their latest slump. Play Pacers
Poole is either going to easily pass this or finish with single digits -- at least that's how his disappointing season has gone so far. As Mike Barner noted when taking Over Kyle Kuzma's point total (thought about that, but this is so much lower), this is going to be a very high-scoring game and might not actually be a blowout with no Tyrese Haliburton for Indiana. Poole should have some confidence after 24 points Monday vs. Oklahoma City and is averaging 24.0 ppg in two vs. Indiana.
This should be a high-scoring game. The Wizards and Pacers are the top-two teams in the league in pace of play and both rank inside the bottom-five in defensive rating. Kyle Kuzma has faced the Pacers twice already this season, scoring 25 and 31 points, respectively. He has been the Wizards’ leading scorer, thanks to his career-high 31.5 percent usage rate. The Wizards might be able to keep this game fairly close with Tyrese Haliburton (hamstring) out for the Pacers, so look for Kuzma to be on the floor long enough to hit this over.
