Don't love that Orlando is playing the second of a B2B but it's a marquee home opponent and one without Joel Embiid -- the Sixers are 0-4 without the MVP this season.
When Embid doesn’t play, Oubre averages .75 points plus rebounds per min. Needing 22 to cash means (on average) he would need to play about 29-30 min. He should eclipse that number. Plus, given the opponent, I actually think the .75 is conservative. Over.
Joel Embiid is set to miss his fifth game of the season tonight and the 76ers will be missing a whopping 35 PPG from their lineup as the reigning MVP leads the league in scoring. Kelly Oubre Jr will be counted on to provide some scoring and Oubre has been a key reserve off the bench. Oubre played 40 minutes last night without Embiid on his way to scoring 25 point and grabbing 7 rebounds. In games Oubre has eclipsed this line in five of six games that he has played at least 28 minutes, while averaging a combined 25.1 PR. Look for Oubre to get up a lot of shots tonight and I have him projected to play 34 mins.
It looks like no Joel Embiid again for the Sixers after missing the Xmas game at night against the Heat. As Embiid had scored better than 40 pg across the four games prior to hurting his ankle, it makes a big hole for Philly to fill. The Magic picked up well after the holiday break with another win vs the Wizards on 28 points from Franz Wagner, and home form has been superb this season for Orlando, which has toppled several heavyweights (including the Bucks and Celtics) at what they now call Kia Center.
