This might be the highest NBA "total" we have seen for a couple of years, but we also wonder if it's high enough. Partly because the Wizards just refuse to play any defense...how else to explain allowing 140+ in the last two games, and 130+ in four of the past five? Coupled with Indiana's high-powered offense that has helped result in a 18-4 "over" mark for Indiana in its games this season, well, then, clearing 260 doesn't seem all that daunting! Play Pacers-Wizards "Over"
Why not? We're being handed some primo go-against situations in the NBA so might as well keep rising against these struggling sides. Washington looks as bad as any at the moment, partly because the Wizards aren't playing any defense whatsoever, allowing 140+ in their last two games, and 130 in four of five. That's also why this "total" is posted way up there at 261 or thereabouts, and Indiana's go-go offense makes clearing that possible as well. This is just a go-against Wiz vote until Washington convinces us to do otherwise. Play Pacers
I'm fully aware this could go Over by early fourth quarter, but if you think I'm not betting Under on the highest total in league history ... all we really need is one half-quarter where the teams are a bit off. Wednesday's Pacers at Bucks game was 259.5 and while we lost Under, it was tracking to win most of the game until a late rush by both sides. Washington doesn't have anyone who can score at will like Giannis did with his 64 points. I mean, we win here at 135-125, which is stupid.
It has been a disaster of a season for the Wizards. They are 3-20 and are giving up 127.0 points per game. Since they have been involved in so many blowouts, Kyle Kuzma is only averaging 31 minutes per game, compared to 35 minutes per game last season. Still, he is averaging a career-high 23.0 points because of his 30.9 percent usage rate. Look for him to score in bunches against the Pacers, who have played at the fastest pace and have the third-worst defensive rating in the league. The last time he faced them, he scored 25 points in just 25 minutes.
This prop is a touch risky but I needed to get some action in what is the biggest total we've had this season. Obi Toppin is capable of scoring 11 points in a single rotation, however he is also capable of fouling out in 10 minutes. That being said, we're getting quite the discount here in what is a fantastic matchup with a with a gargantuan 259 point total. If Toppin logs 24+ mins in this game, he should have a great shot of getting home.
