After one bad game, we are getting gifted with these lines. Previous to his 5-point 5-assist night against the Wizards, De'Anthony Melton has been crushing the month of December. He has hit well over this prop in the 4 games prior. While I could see this being a potential blowout, I don't fear him sitting the way Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey might. It is hard to imagine he does not get back to scoring double-digits against one of the sorriest teams in the NBA.

This is a bet on blowout potential. With a similar game script against the Wizards, Embiid played 29 minutes and went under this prop. I can see him having a similar situation here. Our model projects him for 48.5.

There is some blowout concern here for Joel Embiid. The Pistons have been awful, losing 20 games in a row. However, the 76ers blew out the Wizards on Monday and Embiid still recorded 34 points and 10 rebounds over 30 minutes. In terms of this prop, Embiid has a least 45 combined points and rebounds in four of his last six games. With the Pistons not having Jalen Duren (ankle) available, their options to slow down Embiid are not ideal. With Duren playing the last time these two teams met, Embiid still produced 33 points and 16 rebounds over 36 minutes. Even if the 76ers blow out the Pistons, Embiid will likely be the main reason why, so take the over.
