The Lakers were called out for poor effort. They come out on fire and cover. Jump it.
Monty Williams must wonder what he has gotten into with the rebuilding Pistons, who have now lost 14 in a row after being humbled by the Wizards at Little Caesars on Monday. The wheels have come off in Motown, with the losing streak the second longest in team history. Williams called out his team after the effort vs. Washington, as did LeBron (who didn't play) following the Lake Show's embarrassment in Philly the same night. LeBron remains iffy tonight with his calf strain, and AD might not be at 100% with lingering goin/hip issues, but can expect both teams to at least bear down on the stop end after the respective poor efforts in their last games. This number is rising. Grab it for value at 23.5 before it is gone. Anthony Davis has scored 26-plus in three of his last five and should thrive against a bad Pistons defense.
Anthony Davis will be facing a Detroit Pistons squad on a 14 game losing streak. Davis is having a solid year for the 10-8 Lakers who have Championship aspirations. AD's scoring has been down this year and is averaging 4 PPG less than he did last season. I think his scoring is down largely due to the Lakers roster being deeper and having more talent than they did last season, thus AD focusing less on scoring. I believe they'll need his scoring tonight as the Lakers are playing with a short rotation and this is a very low number.
