Thunder star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was supposed to sit but is now questionable so this spread/ML has risen a bit. The Pacers for sure are without All-Star guard Tyrese Haliburton and probably center Myles Turner as well as they enter full-blown tank mode -- the Thunder used to rent there year-round but now are playing for a play-in spot.
A rare non prop for me but I love this spot for the young Thunder. The Pacers are throwing in the towel and are clearly trying to position themselves to collect as many ping pong balls for the draft lottery. Indiana coach Rick Carlisle just said that we may not see Tyrese Haliburton, Myles Turner, and Buddy Hield for the remainder of the season. They've lost four consecutive games while giving up an average of 135 points per game. The Thunder are one game below .500 and would be in the play-in tournament if the season ended today. SGA may suit up for this but even if he does not, I think Oklahoma City will be too much for the Pacers. Shout out to my colleague Barner for bringing this to spot to my attention.
Taking a shot on here on Josh Giddey who I believe has some value in the +500 range. Giddey has eight career triple doubles and has recorded two of them in March. He will face a Pacers team that has lost four consecutive games while surrendering an average of 135 points. Both of these teams play up tempo and this is exactly the type of game environment that could yield an uptick in output. SGA is out for OKC and Giddey will be the defacto point forward. For the record I prefer this as a half or quarter unit play.
It looks like the Pacers are packing it in. Head coach Rick Carlisle said Thursday that there is a good chance Tyrese Haliburton (ankle) and Myles Turner (back) will not play again this season. With the Pacers dealing with injuries down the stretch, they have lost six of their last seven games. The Thunder have their own injury issues with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (ankle) still out, but they should still have enough with Josh Giddey, Jalen Williams and Luguentz Dort to get past the Pacers.
