Robert Williams for the Celtics is expected to play tonight, however, Al Horford, Jaylen Brown, Marcus Smart, and Malcolm Brogdon are all out. Williams being back will help Boston down-low to attempt to contain Bam Adebayo, at least a little bit. The Celtics have other defensive pieces to keep them in the game since the Heat will want to slow the game down. And while Miami is healthy, they’re still one of the worst cover teams in the association. I’m on Boston.
This is tough because I don't know the status of Boston's Robert Williams, Marcus Smart or Malcolm Brogdon -- and Al Horford usually sits out the second of a B2B, which this is. But Boston is 7-0 in the second of a B2B this season, which is crazy. The Heat are healthy and I'll just have to hope at least a few of those Boston guys sit (think Smart and Horford will at a minimum). Jayson Tatum left Monday's loss in Orlando with an abdominal issue but should play. This number would obviously jump quite a bit if not. Normally, a team would have released its injury report by now but if it played the night before it is not on the same league-mandated deadline.
This is the second game of a back-to-back set for the Celtics. Jayson Tatum grabbed at his side and left briefly against the Magic on Monday. He did return and played 38 minutes, but if he is still bothered at all by the issue, he could sit this one out. Marcus Smart and Malcolm Brogdon were also out Monday, and their status for this game is still uncertain. Meanwhile, the Heat are healthy with none of their starters on the injury report. They are 15-9 at home, but just 7-15-2 there ATS. I prefer the moneyline over taking the Heat to cover the spread.
