Understanding Public and Money

Think of 'Public' as the percentage of people betting on each side and 'Money' as how much money is being bet. When there's a big difference between the 'Public' and 'Money' data, it usually means that the more serious bettors (referred to as 'Sharp Money') are favoring a particular side.

Micah's Analysis:

The Grizzlies have covered five of their last six games, and this is a big number they’re going to cover as well. A moneyline play might also be in order. A Grizzlies team without Ja Morant has no egos and is all about attacking and working as one, which is why they’ve gone 21-6 without him. Tonight, Memphis has to beat the crowd, the refs and a proud Golden State squad that laid down and got beat by 39 in Game 5. Memphis should have won Game 4 in San Francisco, and I look for something similar on Friday. I took the points with the Grizzlies.

Mike's Analysis:

The Grizzlies continue to play tough without Ja Morant (knee). They nearly pulled off an upset on the road in Game 4, losing by just three points. Then, they blew out the Warriors by 39 points in Game 5 in Memphis. I’ve said this before, but Tyus Jones is one of the best backup point guards in the league. He’d be starting for a lot of other teams. The Grizzlies have a lot of quality depth, and continue to give the Warriors problems with their defense. While I think the Warriors win, I think the Grizzlies can keep things fairly close.
