Was waiting on the 6:30 injury report and all clear. I'm frankly shocked that neither team is resting a key player in the second of a back-to-back. Glad they aren't as this makes a potential NBA Finals matchup must-see TV opposite Steelers-Vikings. Utah slaughtered the visiting Sixers earlier this year, but Philly was without Joel Embiid and a few others in COVID protocols. Embiid is 5-2 when he plays vs. Utah and he averages 22.6 points and 12.6 rebounds. He clearly gets fired up facing Rudy Gobert. I get why Utah is favored here but I'll almost never turn down the full-strength Sixers (not counting Ben Simmons) getting this many points at home.
Both of these teams just played Wednesday, so rest days could be coming. The Jazz didn’t have to push their starters in a lopsided win over the Timberwolves, but the Sixers were forced to battle to the final minute against the Hornets. I think Mike Conley Jr. is the most notable potential rest candidate on the Jazz. On the Sixers, this could be a spot for them to sit Joel Embiid. He’s been healthy for two back-to-back sets this season and in one of them, he missed a game for rest. This line could move a lot if he’s ruled out, so I’ll grab it now and take a chance.
