BREAKING: Atlanta star Trae Young has been ruled out for this game in a surprise. I had picked the Hawks earlier today at +7 and I'm actually fine with that still but now hope to double-dip with the Bucks winning by less than six. Tough to see them losing now with no Young.
Trae Young is going to play, although probably not be 100 percent. Keep in mind, though, that the Hawks were generally the better team than Milwaukee for three quarters of Game 3 before Young was hurt. They also may have found something in using rookie Onyeka Okongwu off the bench -- he provided a bit of needed physicality when John Collins was in foul trouble. At worst, Okongwu can burn fouls to put the Greek Freak on the free-throw line, where Giannis continues to struggle. I also expect Cam Reddish to become a factor for desperate Atlanta. The Bucks are 2-5 in their past seven as road favorites.
The Bucks have surged to a 2-1 series lead against the Hawks. Tuesday is an opportunity to make the defining statement in the series. Expect more of what we’ve seen the past two games from the Bucks as they cover their third in a row. A win for Milwaukee also gives the Bucks an opportunity to close out the Eastern Conference Finals on their home floor in Game 5. Grab Milwaukee.
The Hawks have fought hard in this series, but injuries are starting to catch up with them. Bogdan Bogdanovic hasn’t been productive as he battles through a knee injury, and now Trae Young is listed as questionable with a bone bruise in his right foot. He was limited after suffering the injury in Game 3, which resulted in the Bucks winning by 11. If Young isn’t effective in this contest, things could get out of hand in a hurry.
