Ace Tarik Skubal starts for the Tigers, and the Orioles have a pretty watered-down lineup today with Adley Rutschman, Jordan Westburg and Cedric Mullins out vs. the reigning AL Cy Young winner. Not that the Detroit lineup is all that great, but I'll sure be surprised if the Tigers don't score a couple of runs in the first five off struggling O's starter Dean Kremer (6.84 ERA overall, 8.24 away).
This feels the equivalent of finding an oasis in Detroit, getting any sort of a plus price here on the Run Line with the hot Tigers vs. the not-so-hot Birds. Detroit swept the twin bill yesterday and now the Tigers send to the mound their ace Tarik Skubal, who lately has been flashing his AL Cy Young form from last season, allowing just two runs across 18 IP (ERA 1.00) in his last three starts. Meanwhile, Baltimore counterpart Dean Kremer has been one of the reasons the O's staff has been struggling, with his 6.84 ERA. The Tigers moved to 17-7 their last 24 games (and 12-3 at Comerica Park) after Saturday's sweep. Play Tigers on Run Line
The Orioles have a .500 OPS vs lefties and they are facing the best lefty planet in his big home park where he really shoves. They can't get runners to second base vs lefties. And they are coming off a DH - I love the better and deeper team with a short break off a DH, especially when they have the reigning Cy Young on the mound. On the other side, peep Dean Kremer's career ERA before May 1 and all the meatball he throws early in games.
