The Rangers have never seen Yamamoto and that's a huge deal when dealing with his splitter. He has 24 strikeouts in 16 innings in his three starts since the actual start of the regular season. When that splitter is on, it's nearly impossible to hit. Even if he only goes five innings, he'll get home here.

Yesterday we faded Angels starter Jack Kochanowicz's strikeout prop against a Rangers lineup that's been good at putting the ball in play, but we're going the other way today with LA's other team. Yoshinobu Yamamoto has been better in his two home starts, but this matchup favors him, and I think this number should be at 6.5.
The Dodgers used this homestand to get Freddie Freeman back in the lineup and to start hitting the ball better collectively as a team. I expect that to carry over here against Jacob deGrom, who is still a long ways away from what he once was. Also, with Kumar Rocker going tonight I could see the Rangers' pen being on fumes by tomorrow night. And Yoshi Yamamoto is in peak form. I am going to be backing him quite a bit this season and beyond. Rangers cannot get the bats going as expected just yet.
