Pretty watered-down Arizona lineup with MVP candidate Ketel Marte landing on the IL and Josh Bell getting the night off against his former team. The Snakes still have two other regulars on the IL. I am fairly confident that Brandon Pfaadt will keep the punchless Marlins largely in check as Pfaadt has allowed two runs or fewer with one walk or fewer in three of his last four road starts. So this will likely depend on how well Miami's Adam Oller fares. He pitched a little for the A's the past two years and wasn't very good but had a 2.88 ERA over 25 innings in Triple-A this year. I'm presuming this will largely be a bullpen day.
Diamondbacks have lost the last four of five to the Marlins with all games being played in Arizona. The Marlins took two of three this year in Arizona in May. The under has been big in the series including the last three and eight of the last nine meetings. The Diamondbacks come off a rough series at Tampa Bay where they got swept the last three games. The Marlins last home stand against the Padres and the Red Sox where six of their seven games went over the total and the one that stayed under was a total of eight with total 8½. The losing streak on the road is a hard thing to overcome and it'll be close for Arizona. Just the over.
