Cleveland Guardians All Star David Fry is having his worst month at the plate batting .191. Expect him to get things going in the Guardians new series against the Phillies. Philadelphia is just 2-4 post All Star break, and has been having issues with their bullpen and starting pitching. Today’s starter in Christopher Sanchez is coming off giving up his most hits of the season his last outing wth eight. Take Fry over total bases.

I wrote something in the premium newsletter last week about the Phils wanting to limit their starters' innings in the second half where possible to try and ensure playoff health. Cristopher Sanchez was pulled after 90 pitches in his first post-break outing and already is way past his single-season career-high IP. Cleveland is seventh in MLB in OPS against lefties. The SL Model has Sanchez at 5.3 innings. I'm guessing he goes six but doesn't come out for the seventh.

These are the teams with the two best records in baseball and neither is playing their best ball. Guardians lineup has regressed and Phils pen has slumped. But PHI is 37-16 home, while Guardians are 28-26 on road. Christopher Sanchez has a 1.50 ERA at home and Phils have won his last 8 home starts. Ben Lively's fly ball rates are way up lately (5 HR last 4 GS), he doesn't get swing and miss and his ERA is much higher on the road; he has a 5.07 ERA his last 7 starts and league might be figuring him out. For their faults, PHI still 8-4 last 12 at home
