New York’s Luis Gil has had consecutive downgraded performances. Today is a rebound spot for Gil, as his previous two matchups were against Baltimore and the red-hot Mets. The Reds have been slumping at the plate, as they were shut out in two out of their last three games. Look for the Under to come in, even if the Yankees score five or six runs.

Luis Gil has struggled in the month of June and failed to record 7 Ks in his last five starts. Gil also possesses an ERA of 6.45 and only went 6 IP in one start all the way back on June 4th. Gils K metrics have all come back down to earth and his 11.7% SwStr% is trending downward as well. On paper this looks like a good matchup for Gil against a Reds lineup that sports a top 5 K Rate, however Cincinnati's 21.8% K Rate since June 1st is the 12th lowest mark in the MLB.

This feels a little low Tuesday, although Yanks rookie pitcher Luis Gil has been hammered in back-to-back starts. His start to the season was not sustainable but I also don't think he's all of a sudden terrible, either. Thought Juan Soto was going to sit Sunday in Toronto or I wouldn't have faded the Yanks. Apparently that hand injury is nothing as Soto did play and was a big reason why New York won. Cincy starter Graham Ashcraft has a 5.45 ERA on the year and gives up a lot of homers.
