The Twins bring some momentum into Seattle after pounding Arizona the past two days and winning a series against a team other than the Rockies or A's for the first time in nearly four weeks. Drill deeper, however, and note that Minnesota took advantage of a couple of the more inconsistent pieces in the D-Backs rotation, a luxury they don't have tonight vs. the Mariners as Logan Gilbert hasn't allowed a run in his last two starts while going eight full innings in each. Seattle is also back at T-Mobile Park where it has won 13 of tis last 14, and note Bailey Ober's subpar 5.07 ERA away for Minnesota.

Minnesota has had an impressive road trip, going 4-2 so far as the Twins head into Seattle. The Mariners come off a terrible road trip where they finished 2-6. Bailey Ober has won his last three starts, but two of them were against the weaker A's. Logan Gilbert is the reason for betting the Mariners today because he's allowed no runs in his last two starts and he's won his last three starts. Gilbert's in the zone right now. Mariners win.

Logan Gilbert will have his hands full against a Twins' lineup that sports the lowest strikeout rate in MLB since June 1. Several Twins also have strong career numbers against Gilbert. Gilbert should stay Under this number for the sixth time in his past eight starts.

The Mariners were off today to reset their bullpen, while the Twins put up Vikings-type numbers in Arizona before traveling. And I mean Vikings numbers with Sam Darnold not Kirk Cousins, but we so often see MLB teams that blow up for double-digit runs then do squat the next game. And it's ace Logan Gilbert on the hill for Seattle on Friday. He has not allowed a run over 16 innings in his past two. I may have picked the wrong Mariner to potentially win the Cy Young in George Kirby, although he has been great of late too. Gilbert leads the AL in WHIP (0.89) and ranks T1 in quality starts (13), 3rd in opponent batting average (.196) and 7th in ERA (2.71).
