This is a fairly high -1.5 RL price and I wasn't going to do it in Max Scherzer's Texas debut (he has been just OK this year; maybe playing on a contender energizes him like in 2021 with the Dodgers), but the White Sox are resting both Luis Robert and Eloy Jimenez so they may well be blanked. Chicago's bullpen is an utter gas can right now as well after trading away all the good arms.
This series is a major mismatch. It showed Wednesday when the Rangers beat the White Sox by 10 runs. They have another big starting pitching advantage Thursday with Max Scherzer facing off with Touki Toussaint. Toussaint has been wild, posting a 15.2 percent walk rate to go along with his underwhelming 19.2 percent strikeout rate. The Rangers have scored the most runs in baseball, so expect them to take advantage of his wildness and improve on their 36-20 home record with a lopsided victory.
Max Scherzer will be making his Texas Rangers debut against a White Sox squad that just traded numerous bats and pitchers at the trade deadline. The Rangers also got a big boost to their lineup after Corey Seager returned last night and picked up where he left off going 2-4 with a home run. Touki Toussant will draw the start for Chicago and has only eclipsed five innings once in his previous seven outings.
